“ Stopped by after the Halloween parade off Halsted. The restaurant was busy with takeaway orders and had a few tables that were starting to fill up from fellow parade observers. The staff were friendly and the decor was some notches up from your standard Chinese restaurant. Salt and Pepper shrimp. I usually get this in other restaurants as an appetizer with squid so I knew what to expect. The shrimp were fried well and were crunchy but not overly so. The dish had a nice subtle kick. It wasn't particularly spicy, but will warm you up on a cold evening. A nice light entree despite being fried. Would get it again. ”

“ Had dinner here last weekend with friends and just really enjoyed this place. It was really good Chinese and Asian food, after a long time. The place isn't too fancy or anything. It kind of has a strange layout too, where you have to go around the bend to the seating area. It's not a big place, at all inside. The service was kind of OK - the lady admittedly was on her first day, but she just wasn't up with the service. For example, just not doing refills, not knowing the menu, etc. I get it - first day. I'm giving this place the benefit of the doubt. Our friends that took us there vouch for this place; they're regulars. And there were right on one thing; the food was great. The Ma Po Tofu was great. The Kung Pao Vegetables were also good. There was this veggie sushi, which I really loved. It had some crispy stuff in there. I can't find it on the online menu, but whichever one it was, I loved it. We also had the veggie fried rice, which was just OK. I ate a LOT of food there, cuz it was so good. You know, there are SO many more amazing looking options on the menu, I definitely would want to come back here to give it a shot. In fact, I noticed there's another location down near West Town, so I'll definitely give it a shot. Now that I think about it - maybe we already have? Hmm... I'll have to look in to that.
